天地交，泰，后以财成天地之道，辅相天地之宜，以左右民。
Heaven and earth unite: the image of peace. Thus the ruler shapes and completes the course of heaven and earth, supports the appropriate ways of heaven and earth, and so aids the people.

拔茅茹，以其汇，征吉。
When ribbon grass is pulled up, the sod comes with it. Each according to its kind. Undertakings bring good fortune.
Like roots emerging together — comrades advance as a connected band; alignment is its own forward motion.
Nine in the second · 九二
⚊ yang
包荒，用冯河，不遐遗，朋亡，得尚于中行。
Bearing with the uncultured in gentleness, fording the river with resolution, not neglecting what is distant, not regarding one's companions — thus one walks the middle way.
Wide tolerance combined with the courage to cross by foot; ignore neither the distant nor the close, abandon factional ties for the middle path.
Nine in the third · 九三
⚊ yang
无平不陂，无往不复。艰贞无咎，勿恤其孚，于食有福。
No level place that does not tilt; no going forward without return. Steadfast in difficulty brings no blame. Do not complain over this truth — you will enjoy good fortune in food.
Reversion is woven into peace itself. Hold integrity through the turn and the table will still hold food.

翩翩，不富以其邻，不戒以其孚。
Fluttering down without boasting of wealth, with his neighbor, with no prior caution — full of confidence.
The high descends to meet the low without ostentation. Mutual trust replaces explicit assurances.

帝乙归妹，以祉元吉。
King Yi gives his daughter in marriage. Through this comes blessing. Sublime good fortune.
Power married to gentleness — the highest position chooses gracious union over status display.
Six at the top · 上六
⚋ yin
城复于隍，勿用师。自邑告命，贞吝。
The wall falls back into the moat. Use no army now. Make your commands known within your own town. Steadfastness brings humiliation.
Peace exhausts itself; the wall collapses back to its trench. Do not deploy force outward — manage the home patch.
